Kovalam - Kanyakumari - Alleppey - Kumarakom - Thekkady
– Munnar – Cochin (10 Nights / 11 Days)
Day 1 Kovalam
A representative will meet you on arrival and transfer to Kovalam. Stay and relax
at the beach hotel / resort. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 2 Kovalam - Excursion to Kanyakumari
After breakfast proceed for a day trip to Kanyakumari, visiting Padmanabha
Puram Palace and Suchindram Temple enroute and Vivekananda Rock at
Kanyakumari. Return to Kovalam after enjoying the sunset on the Beach.
Overnight at the hotel.
Day 3 Kovalam
Day at leisure to enjoy the famous Kovalam Beach. Overnight at the hotel
Day 4 Kovalam - Alleppey (175 Kms. - 4.5 Hrs.)
After breakfast proceed to Alleppey, to board a houseboat for a cruise through
the enchanting backwaters enjoying the swaying coconut palms, paddy fields
and the village life at close quarters. Stay overnight on a sailing House Boat.
Day 5 Kumarakom - Thekkady (130 Kms.- 4 Hrs.)
After some more sightseeing through the narrow canals, disembark from the
houseboat and proceed to Thekkady to check into the hotel. In the afternoon,
visit some spice plantations. The evening is free for shopping in the spice
market of Kumily town. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 6 Thekkady
Early in the morning visit the famed Periyar Wild Life Sanctuary and enjoy a
cruise on Lake Periyar. During the boat ride, spot the wild life (elephants, Indian
Gaur, monkeys, spotted deer, barking deer, wild boar and a variety of birds).
Covering an area of 777 sq. kms, this sanctuary lies at an elevation of 914 mts.
above sea level in the hills of the Western Ghats. The afternoon and evening is
free to relax. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 7 Thekkady - Munnar (98 Kms. - 3.5 Hrs.)
After breakfast proceed to Munnar, the beautiful and unspoilt hill station in the
Western Ghats, enjoying the scenic beauty and the plantations of rubber,
cardamom, tea and coffee. Arrive and check into your hotel. The afternoon is
free to relax or walk through the tea gardens. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 8 Munnar
The day is spent sightseeing Munnar which includes visits to the Rajamalai wild
life sanctuary to view the endangered species of wild goats known as Nilgiri
Tahr, the Maduppetty dam and some tea gardens. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 9 Munnar - Cochin (140 Kms - 4 hrs)
Morning is at your leisure. After lunch, proceed to Cochin and check into your
hotel. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 10 Cochin
The morning is spent city sightseeing. Visit the Jewish Synagogue built over 400
years ago containing beautiful Belgian glass chandeliers and paved with hand-
painted tiles from China. Also see the Dutch Palace with its wonderful murals
depicting the entire story of the Ramayana. St. Francis Church, the first
European church built in India (16th century) and the original burial site of
Vasco De Gama is also on the list. Lastly, see the Chinese fishing nets
bordering the Cochin Harbor mouth. In the evening, enjoy a sunset cruise by
motorboat. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 11 DEPARTURE
Depart to the airport to board your flight back home.
